The Särkänsilta bridge and the new Harbour Gate will open on June 18
According to current information, the Särkänsilta bridge, which connects Särkänniemi and Mustanlahti, is expected to open to pedestrians before Midsummer on June 18, 2026. On the same day, Särkänniemi’s new Harbour Gate will also open. In the future, Särkänniemi will be easily accessible through two entrances, connected by a forked bridge: the familiar Tornado Gate located in front of Näsinneula, and the new Harbour Gate situated on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi. The ride itself is the finishing touch: Konect brings together the youngest and the oldest, the bravest and the calmest, because the best journey is created when it is shared. Särkänniemi’s largest investment of the decade, the family roller coaster named Konect, will open for summer 2026. This unique coaster has been designed specifically for Särkänniemi, so there is nothing quite like it anywhere else. Konect is the first major roller coaster in Finland that riders as short as 100 cm can enjoy with an adult. Without an adult, riders must be over 120 cm tall.

Tampereen Ursa Planetarium Shows
At Särkänniemi, visitors can enjoy two different types of planetarium shows presented by the astronomy guides of Tampereen Ursa. Public shows will be held daily during the 2026 summer season from June 29 to August 2, 2026. Showtimes are at 4:40 PM and 5:20 PM.
In the Solar System presentation, visitors explore the most fascinating planets, dwarf planets, moons, and asteroids in our solar system. The guides explain how our solar system and its planets were formed. The show also features an exoplanet — a planet orbiting a star other than our Sun.
In the Stars and the Universe presentation, visitors learn about the life cycle of stars, with a special focus on the Sun, and embark on a journey through intergalactic space all the way to the edge of the observable universe.
Tampereen Ursa planetarium shows are included with a Planetarium ticket, Särkänniemi and Destination wristbands, as well as Season Passes. Seating is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
